Town Meeting

Join NHMA for this year's Moderator's Workshop on January 10th for SB2 towns and February 21st for Traditional Town Meeting towns. This year's workshop will again be held entirely virtually, via Zoom, to allow us to provide separate sessions for beginner and advanced moderators. The beginner session will focus on all of the basics for new moderators getting ready for their first town meeting or for those who want a refresher on the fundamentals of moderating a town meeting.

Advanced Moderators – This year NHMA will be offering our usual moderator’s training materials but with sessions geared towards beginner and advanced moderators. The advanced session will contain an overview of the basics, but with specific content geared towards moderators who have handled one or more town meetings in the past.  

The Academy for Good Governance is a series of seven courses created by the NH Municipal Association (NHMA) and Primex, exclusively for elected governing body members (select board, town council, city council, board of aldermen, school board, and village district commissioners).  Courses are taught by experienced attorneys and staff from NHMA, Primex, HealthTrust, and the New Hampshire School Boards Association (NHSBA).  Attendees will receive education and training intended to make them more knowledgeable and effective in their governing body roles.
