Request For Proposal
The Town of Alton seeks proposals for the performance of a Cyclical Property Inspection cycle for the
current revaluation period: April 1, 2027 – March 31, 2031. The proposal should include the price per
year as well as the price per parcel. The Town anticipates viewing approximately 900 improved parcels
per year. Vacant properties will be reviewed in-house.
The Town of Alton consists of 6017 parcels made up of the following:
1. 3,008 Residential
2. 961 Residential with Water Access
3. 1,528 Residential Water Front
4. 176 Commercial/Industrial
5. 99 Exempt (State, Municipal, PILOT)
6. 238 Current Use (Vacant)
7. 7 Utility (Electric & Telecom)
8. 4,457 Improved / 1,557 Vacant (total)
The Town of Alton plans to update values annually while performing a full statistical update every fifth
year. The proposal should include a per diem cost of assessing personnel (Assessor or Supervisor level)
for four eight hour shifts (32 hours) in the event that the Town needs Assessor coverage during this period.
The proposal should also include a cost per parcel for building permit inspections. The Town has
approximately 150 permit inspections annually.
