Job Description
The New London Fire Department has an opening(s) for a current Full-Time Fire Officer. The Department is seeking energetic, experienced applicants that are looking to serve and be a part of this Lake Sunapee Region community. This is a 24-hour shift position on a 1-1-1-5 rotation. The Fire Officer position is a leadership position and is responsible for incident command until relieved by a Chief Officer. This position has the duties and responsibilities of preparedness of the equipment, station and training and inspectional duties.
New London Fire responds to between 900 - 1000 emergency calls annually. This smaller college town is surrounded by lakes and mountains, and is a wonderful area to live and work. The fire department does not operate an ambulance, this service is provided by New London Hospital, which is an integral part of our community.
Qualifications
- Firefighter II (Pro-Board or ability to obtain reciprocity in NH).
- Licensed New Hampshire EMT-B minimum.
- Certified NH Fire Inspector or equivalent.
- Must pass criminal record and N.H. motor vehicle background checks.
- Shall meet National Fire Protection Association 1582 medical requirements for career firefighters.
- Current CPAT certificate OR Lateral transfer of full-time career personnel pursuant to State of New Hampshire Administrative Rule 703.01.
Additional Considerations
- EMT-A or Paramedic Certification
- CDL-B with tank and airbrake endorsements
- Associate Degree or higher in Fire Science, Fire Protection, or Investigation
