The Town of Sunapee is requesting bids from qualified contractors for the replacement of the Georges Mills Boat Launch on Cooper Street in Sunapee, NH. The project includes removal of the existing boat launch and retaining wall; installation of the proposed boat launch, retaining wall, docking structures and ramps; guardrail; crushed stone; bituminous pavement; wood decking; signs and pavement markings; landscaping; erosion prevention and sediment control; and all associated work as outlined in the bid plans.
Pre-bid meeting: Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM. An optional pre-bid conference will be held on site.
Questions deadline: Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 4:00 PM. Questions regarding the bidding documents shall be directed to Shannon Martinez at manager@sunapeenh.gov or Will Davis, P.E., at wdavis@verdantas.com.
Submission deadline: Friday, October 16, 2026, by 4:00 PM. Bids shall be submitted electronically by email with the subject “Georges Mills Boat Launch” to Shannon Martinez at manager@sunapeenh.gov, with the Engineer copied. Bids will only be accepted by email; do not drop bids off in person. Bids will be read privately.
Project schedule: The successful contractor will be required to substantially complete the work within 60 calendar days of the Notice to Proceed, with final completion within 90 days, as provided in the bidding documents. Work within the lakebed must comply with the applicable permit requirements and occur between October 15 and May 31. The boat launch will be closed for the duration of construction, while Cooper Street shall remain open at all times.
Bidding documents, including plans, specifications, bid forms, and addenda, are available at the Town of Sunapee website. Official notifications, addenda, and other bidding documents will be provided through the designated website.
The Town reserves the right to reject any and all proposals as deemed in its best interest.
