Town of Newington Building Inspector 

The Town of Newington (assessed valuation: $1,293,822,000) is seeking a part time Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer. The Inspector also serves as Zoning Administrator and Health Officer for the town and issues all excavation permits. The position manages the town buildings repair and improvement projects. The Inspector manages and reports on all Code Enforcement and Town Building budget expenditures and revenues. Position reports to the Town Administrator. The selected candidate will show successful experience with: - building inspection - - strong communication skills ability to work cooperatively with all town departments, boards, residents and contractors. Of particular interest are examples of: - experience with industrial and commercial building construction and renovation; - - - knowledge of ICC building code; budgeting skills; Education and training related to building inspection, public health law, workplace safety, environmental protection, and GIS. This position is a part-time, non-benefited 32 hours per week. Certification from the International Code Council as a Commercial Building Inspector, Residential Building Inspector and Building Plans Examiner preferred. Valid NH driver’s license required. A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience desired. Current pay range: $50.+ per hour commensurate with education and experience.
