TRUCK DRIVER/EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

The Kingston Highway Department seeks qualified candidates to join our team as a Truck Driver/Equipment Operator. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) and benefits-eligible position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: operating trucks and equipment to construct, improve, and maintain roads and drainage systems; helping grade and set up base for new street construction and building sites; operating trucks to haul materials, plow snow, and clear ice from streets and sidewalks; assisting with installation and maintenance of storm drain systems, and performing routine road maintenance. Other duties as assigned to support the town.

Experience and Education: Must possess a valid CDL B - CDL A preferred. Increased compensation for plow, mechanical, heavy construction, and maintenance experience/ability. High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years’ experience in operating trucks and construction equipment.
Physical Demands/Work Environment: Duties typically involve standing, walking, crouching, bending, stooping, and lifting both light and heavy objects. High degree of dexterity needed to operate and maintain job-related tools and equipment. Use of safety and protective equipment is frequently required. Work is typically performed outdoors, at times in extreme cold, heat, and inclement weather. A 15-mile response radius to 12 Main St., Kingston, NH, is required.
