City of Portsmouth's Pease Wastewater Treatment Plant is seeking 2 dependable and motivated Plant Operators to join the team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operation of the wastewater treatment facility while contributing to the protection of public health and natural resources.
Starting pay rate: $25.66 - $32.87 an hour per the 1386A Salary Schedule, plus on call pay
Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week. Occasional weekends and holidays may be required
Schedule: Monday-Friday: 7:30am-3:30pm
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants for this position must have graduated from high school or earned a graduate equivalent diploma (GED). Three (3) years’ experience in maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment is required. Knowledge of operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant or one (1) year of formal training in wastewater treatment preferred. Advanced training in wastewater treatment plant operations, pumps, motors or other skilled trade is highly desired.
Incumbent will have 18 months from hire date to acquire a Grade II NH Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification. Certified operators are then required to complete ongoing education and training to renew their certifications.
The incumbent must possess a valid driver's license and have no offenses which would prohibit or restrict insurability by any insurance carrier providing coverage to the City.
Obtaining additional certification or licensing may be required.
