The Town of Kennebunkport is seeking a motivated, service-oriented professional to join our team as a Firefighter / Community Risk Reduction Specialist. This position supports the Fire Department in three key areas:
Emergency Response
- Respond to fire, rescue, medical, and related emergency calls as needed
- Participate in training, drills, and emergency preparedness activities
- Maintain readiness of apparatus, equipment, and facilities
Fire Prevention & Community Safety
- Conduct fire and life safety inspections
- Deliver public education and outreach programs
- Support smoke alarm, injury prevention, and risk reduction initiatives
- Work with businesses, residents, schools, and vulnerable populations to improve safety
Administrative Support
- Maintain records, reports, training documentation, and compliance files
- Assist with scheduling, payroll coordination, purchasing, and department communications
- Support the Fire Chief with operational and administrative projects
This is a full-time, non-exempt position generally working weekday business hours. Some evening, weekend, and after-hours emergency response work is required as needed.
