Firefighter / Community Risk Reduction Specialist: Town of Kennebunkport, Maine

The Town of Kennebunkport is seeking a motivated, service-oriented professional to join our team as a Firefighter / Community Risk Reduction Specialist. This position supports the Fire Department in three key areas:

Emergency Response

  • Respond to fire, rescue, medical, and related emergency calls as needed
  • Participate in training, drills, and emergency preparedness activities
  • Maintain readiness of apparatus, equipment, and facilities

Fire Prevention & Community Safety

  • Conduct fire and life safety inspections
  • Deliver public education and outreach programs
  • Support smoke alarm, injury prevention, and risk reduction initiatives
  • Work with businesses, residents, schools, and vulnerable populations to improve safety

Administrative Support

  • Maintain records, reports, training documentation, and compliance files
  • Assist with scheduling, payroll coordination, purchasing, and department communications
  • Support the Fire Chief with operational and administrative projects

This is a full-time, non-exempt position generally working weekday business hours. Some evening, weekend, and after-hours emergency response work is required as needed.

  • Pay Rate – We ensure that our employees receive fair pay based on their skills and experience. Proposed pay for the position is $27.00 - $33.00 per hour.
