The Town of Gilmanton is seeking a motivated and skilled Equipment Operator to join our Highway Department. This full-time role (minimum 40 hours/week) is ideal for someone with strong mechanical abilities who enjoys hands-on work, operating heavy equipment, and helping maintain the town’s roads and public infrastructure.
As an Equipment Operator, you will perform a mix of mechanical repair, routine maintenance, and highway operations. This includes working on a wide range of town vehicles and equipment, from small engines to heavy trucks and graders. You’ll also support year-round public works activities such as snow removal, road repairs, drainage improvements, and general maintenance.
This position requires initiative, independence, and the ability to problem-solve in the field. Work is performed under general supervision of the Road Agent but often requires sound judgment and safe, efficient operation.
Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.
