Head of Groundskeeping
The Sanborn Regional School District is seeking a skilled and motivated Head of Groundskeeping to oversee the maintenance and care of outdoor spaces across six district properties. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our school campuses, athletic fields, and playground areas are safe, well-maintained, and ready to support students, staff, and community activities year-round.
This is a full-time, year-round position reporting to the Director of Facilities and Safety and supervising two grounds staff members.
Compensation
- $30.00 per hour
- Full benefits package in accordance with district policies
Work Schedule
- Minimum 40 hours per week
- Additional hours may be required based on weather conditions, seasonal demands, and athletic field schedules
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain grounds across six district properties
- Supervise and coordinate the work of two groundskeeping staff members
- Maintain athletic fields and outdoor recreational areas
- Perform landscaping and turf management including mowing, trimming, fertilizing, and seasonal maintenance
- Conduct snow and ice removal, including plowing, shoveling, and salting of walkways and entrances
- Perform minor repairs to fencing, athletic backstops, and exterior structures
- Conduct routine playground equipment inspections to ensure safety
- Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment including tractors, mowers, and snow removal equipment
- Assist with outdoor event setup as needed
- Maintain equipment, tools, and supply inventory
