The Town of Raymond Fire Department is now accepting applications to fill an immediate opening. Ideal candidates must be intrinsically motivated, forward-thinking and excel as part of a team or working independently. The position requires response to fire and medical emergencies, operating department apparatus, performing fire and life safety inspections, inspection and maintenance of department equipment, and various administrative duties. The successful candidate will work under the general supervision of the command staff. The Raymond Fire Department covers twenty-nine square miles with a full-time population North of 11,000 residents. The Raymond Fire Department operates out of one station, responding to around 1200 calls annually. Apparatus includes three engines, a tanker, an aerial platform, and a boat. A private company provides EMS transport service.
The selected candidate will work a forty-eight (48) hour week consisting of two twenty-four (24) hour shifts including weekends and holidays.
Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; possession of a valid NH CDL Class-B with tank and air brakes endorsement (or ability to obtain within six months of start date); Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician; NH firefighter certification (Level II); Successful completion of required entrance testing (CPAT) for full-time firefighters (Administrative Rule FIRE 701.01). Lateral transfer candidates (eligible pursuant to Administrative Rules FIRE 703.01) are welcome and encouraged to apply. Candidates must be able to pass a background investigation (including a satisfactory driving history) and a pre-employment NFPA 1582 physical.
