Police Officer

Patrol Officer

The New Hampton Police Department is currently accepting applications to fill a vacancy in the full-time officer classification. We are a unique department in that we are bigger than most small-town departments as far as activity, but small enough to be a low-stress, proactive team.  We encourage and support our officers to be proactive in developing cases. We are very modern where it counts to the officer, while still being very community-oriented.

We wear a relaxed style uniform with outer carriers, carry Glock 9mm sidearms with red dot sights, and Taser 7”s.  Beards are permitted and our tattoo policy is very accommodating. We believe strongly in working with other agencies to get the job done. We connected to dispatch with MDTs in the cruisers. We offer many training opportunities, and want to see all officers succeed in their career path.

The successful candidate will perform law enforcement services including patrol, investigations, and traffic enforcement. Shifts consist of day and evening shifts, being 10 hours and a 4 on, 3 off schedule.

State of New Hampshire full Law Enforcement certification from the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council preferred but not required, we are always willing to train the right person.  Must possess a valid driver’s license.

To apply, please submit cover letter and resume, to Chief Joshua Tyrrell, 24 Intervale Dr. New Hampton, NH 03256

Any selected applicant will go through an extensive background investigation including but not limited to;

  • Physical Ability Screen
  • Oral Board Interview
  • Medical/Psychological Screen
