Request for Letters of Interest and Engineering Qualification Statements

The Town of Londonderry is requesting letters of interest and Qualification Statements from Professional Civil Engineering Firms who wish to provide engineering services for the study and design of approximately six tenths (0.6) of a mile of rail trail/multi-use path from Coteville Road to Rockingham Road. The selected firm must have a proven track record for successfully designing multi-use paths in the 500,000 – 1-million-dollar range and must have an NH DOT LPA certification. Interested Engineering Consultants are asked to submit a letter of interest and Qualification Statement by November 24, 2025, to Town of Londonderry, Finance Department, 268B Mammoth Rd, Londonderry, NH 03053, ATTN: Justin Campo, Director of Finance and Administration.
Services to be provided by the Engineer will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Conduct an engineering review to include review and comment on proposed phase 7 segment which will connect the Derry Rail Trail network to the Londonderry Rail Trail with a 0.6-mile-long multi-use path parallel to Coteville Road and the Derry Townline.
- Coordinate the study and design with the Town of Londonderry and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT).
- Conduct a topographic survey and obtain soil borings.
- Design storm water facilities.
- Investigate existing and proposed utilities and coordinate improvements.
- Obtain all environmental and other permits.
- Attend meetings and public hearings as a representative of the Town of Londonderry.
- Determine abutter impacts. Survey and prepare right-of-way and easement taking plans and descriptions suitable for recording.
- Prepare engineering study, preliminary and final plans, specifications, cost estimates and bid documents ready for advertising.
The interview phase is expected to take place beginning January 5, 2026. It is anticipated that the interview and selection process will be completed by January 19, 2025.
