The Woodstock Police Department is seeking a qualified, motivated, and community-oriented law enforcement professional to fill the position of Patrol Sergeant. This is a full-time, sworn supervisory position offering an excellent opportunity to serve and lead in one of New Hampshire’s most scenic and vibrant communities.


 ABOUT THE POSITION

As a Patrol Sergeant, you will play a key leadership role in our department, supervising patrol officers, coordinating daily operations, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality police services to our residents and visitors. This position reports directly to the Chief of Police.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and mentoring patrol officers during assigned shifts
     
  • Coordinating patrol activities and responding to major incidents
     
  • Ensuring compliance with department policies, procedures, and applicable laws
     
  • Preparing reports and assisting in investigations
     
  • Conducting performance evaluations and providing training guidance
     
  • Acting as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) in the absence of higher-ranking command staff
     
  • Maintaining strong relationships with the community, local businesses, and partner agencies 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current NH Full-Time Certified Police Officer (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
     
  • Minimum of 5 years of law enforcement experience preferred
     
  • Supervisory experience is highly desirable.
     
  • Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
     
  • Commitment to community policing and public service
     
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass all background, psychological, and medical screenings
