The NH Women's Leadership Institute (NHWLI) was established in 2024 as a joint effort between Primex, the Municipal Management Associations of NH (MMANH), and the NH Municipal Association (NHMA). Our mission is to empower and elevate women leaders in New Hampshire’s public sector by delivering essential leadership training and building the confidence, skills, and networks they need to lead and serve their communities with excellence.
The first annual program ran in 2025, with nearly 200 applicants from cities, towns, schools, counties and village districts applying for 24 spots. The session programs take place over a series of months, beginning in May, and address a variety of topics, including public speaking, advocacy and influence, and succession planning. The presenters include inspiring women leaders in local government in New Hampshire.
Eligible applicants must be current female employees in New Hampshire’s local government sector who seek to develop leadership skills and/or grow into leadership roles. The application process for the 2026 cohort will open in early 2026. Check back for more information!
