Seeks an Experienced Public Works Director

The Public Works Director oversees all departmental operations and performs high level administrative responsibilities; oversees the Town’s capital planning and project implementation, environmental compliance and reporting as well as works with Boards and Commissions. The overall departmental budget totals $2,250,000 annually. The department director, under the direct supervision of the Town Administrator, is responsible for solid waste and transfer station operations, roadway maintenance and snow clearing operations, buildings maintenance, parks and recreation facilities, and serves as sextant for the Cemetery Trustees. The Director supervises five full-time operator/truck drivers including a crew lead; a part-time administrative coordinator; one full-time and one part-time facilities maintenance staff; and several part-time seasonal staff for winter and summer operations. 

Candidates must have at least seven years of year-round highway, public works or facilities maintenance experience with three years progressively responsible experience; a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, business administration, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of these required knowledge, skills, and abilities. 

Salary range is between $85,000 - $100,000 with a highly competitive benefits package.
