This introductory, hands-on workshop is designed for municipality staff, board members, and stakeholders interested in learning more about their community to support planning, programming, and grant-writing. Participants will learn how to easily access U.S. Census Bureau data to support community needs assessments, program planning, and strategic decision-making. The session introduces key Census Bureau surveys and user-friendly data tools that can be used to research local populations, identify service gaps, prioritize projects, strengthen outreach efforts, and support grant-writing and reporting requirements. Through live demonstrations, participants will explore census.gov and practice using tools such as data.census.gov, QuickFacts, and Narrative Profiles to create community profiles, data tables, and simple maps that compare neighborhoods or service areas.

Registration is available until 5:00 pm on June 24, 2026. Registrations after this time cannot be guaranteed.
