This Legal Lunch and Learn webinar will provide legal and practical guidance on handling a so-called “First Amendment Audit”. This session will suggest what to do and (very importantly) what *not* to do when someone is video recording in your town hall, suggestions for identifying and controlling access to “staff only” areas, and ensuring appropriate, non-confrontational access to public areas of town hall, along with a review of the First Amendment principles that apply. 

NHMA Members/Associate Members/State Agencies you must be logged in to receive complimentary registration.  If you register but cannot attend, a recording of the webinar will be provided. Registration is available until 5:00 pm on September 21, 2026. Registrations after this time cannot be guaranteed.  You will receive email confirmation from registrations@nhmunicipal.org providing you with webinar access information.  You cannot cancel if you have signed up to attend a webinar.
