NHMA will be holding two complimentary workshops on April 22 and May 13, 2026 to provide municipal officials with the tools and information to effectively serve your communities. These free workshops are great as a primer for new local officials or as a refresher for more experienced local officials on the basics of town government.
The April workshop will be held on April 22, 2026 at the NHMA Offices in a hybrid format - In person attendance option and a virtual attendance option in zoom. In person attendance is limited to 60 participants.
The second workshop will be held on May 13, 2026 at the Newington Town Hall, Kent Auditorium, 205 Nimble Hill Road and will be held in person only. In person attendance is limited to 80 participants.

Presented by NHMA's Legal Services attorneys, these complimentary workshops provide municipal officials with the tools and information to effectively serve your communities.
Topics will include the Right-to-Know Law, town governance, ethics and conflicts of interest, removals, resignations and vacancies, running effective meetings, and more. We will also have a presentation on volunteers and liability considerations provided by Primex as well as a presentation on hot topics pending before the New Hampshire State Legislature of concern to municipal officials.
Ample time allowed for questions, answers, and discussion.
Attendees will receive an electronic copy of the 2026 edition of NHMA's comprehensive publication on municipal law, Knowing the Territory. Additional materials such as the PowerPoint presentation will also be distributed electronically. No print outs of the materials or hard copy of the publication will be provided.
Workshop is free but pre-registration is required. Registration is available until 5:00 pm on April 20, 2026 for the April 22nd workshop and registration is available until 5:00pm on May 11, 2026 for the May 13th workshop. Registrations after this time cannot be guaranteed. If your register but cannot attend, a recording of the workshop will be provided.
