Water/Sewer Heavy Equipment Operator

Requirements:  Responsible for water distribution and sewer collection system operations, including maintenance of water valves, meters and hydrants; hydrant flushing; installation and repair of water and sewer mains; jetting of sewer mains; sewer manhole repair; operation of heavy equipment including vacuum truck, dump truck, front end loader and backhoe. Must be available for emergency response such as water breaks, sewer back-ups, snow plowing, etc. Duties also include snow plowing and snow removal. This position reports to the Water & Sewer Utilities Foreman. 

Qualifications:  Qualified candidates will have knowledge of highway/water-sewer maintenance and construction. Completion of a high school diploma or GED equivalent and one to three years of related experience. Must possess a New Hampshire Grade I License for Water Distribution and/or NEWEA Collection System License required within one year of hire. Must possess a valid New Hampshire CDL Class B driver’s license with air brake certification and tank endorsement.
