Transfer Station Supervisor
The Town of Farmington is seeking a skilled and motivated Transfer Station Supervisor to lead daily operations of our solid waste facility. This position oversees staff, manages waste disposal logistics, ensures safety compliance, interacts with residents, vendors, and elected officials, and operates heavy equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, schedule, and support Transfer Station staff
- Oversee daily operations and maintain accurate records
- Operate equipment (loader, skid steer, fork lift, balers, and all transfer station and recycling equipment)
- Ensure safe and proper disposal of materials
- Perform routine equipment maintenance
- Handle payments and daily cash-ups with accuracy
- Provide excellent customer service to residents
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid SWOT license
- Valid Weighmaster license OR the ability to obtain one within 1 year of hire
- Experience in transfer station operations and prior supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication skills and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and lead a small team
- Ability to perform physical tasks and work in outdoor conditions
Starting Pay: $22.00 – 28.00 per hour
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Friday-Monday (4 10-hour days)
Location: Farmington, New Hampshire
