Transfer Station Attendant

The Town of Rollinsford operates a municipal solid waste transfer station serving a population of nearly 2,700 residents. The community is made up of a mix of urban village and rural agricultural lands. The robust transfer station operation is the sole municipally supported means of waste management in the community. If they chose, residents may contract private curbside collection services at their expense.

Transfer Station Attendants shall be cross trained to include the safe operation of hydraulic compaction equipment, skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders. Attendants are required to maintain a Solid Waste Operator Certification which is obtained from the State of New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, Solid
Waste Division. The Town supports the training and fees necessary to obtain and maintain certification.


As a Transfer Station Attendant, you will interact with Rollinsford residents direct and or indirectly while collecting fees for annual permits or daily costs for bulky waste disposal. Attendants shall help educate and direct residents in the appropriate on-site sorting of recyclable commodities such as plastic, tin, aluminum, glass and cardboard.

The position of Transfer Station Attendant is part-time averaging sixteen hours per week. The schedule of operations consists of five hours worked on Monday’s and Wednesday’s and six hours on Saturdays. The nature of work requires exposure to inclement weather year-round.

Wage commensurate with experience.
