Technical Services in Development of Bow Lake Watershed Management Plan

Strafford Regional Planning Commission (SRPC) is working with the Town of Strafford to take an incremental approach to developing a Watershed Management Plan for Bow Lake that knits together several funding sources. SRPC was awarded $25,000 from the Piscataqua Region Estuaries Partnership Assessment (PREPA) grant program, as well as a $25,000 appropriation that passed at the March 2025 Strafford Town Meeting. Funding has been secured to conduct outreach and engagement, complete a septic system inventory, analysis of road runoff impact, and identify associated mitigation strategies.

SRPC and the town of Strafford intend to leverage this work to apply for 604(b) funding from the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NH DES) to complete the remaining elements of a nine-element (a-i) watershed management plan for Bow Lake. This Request for Qualifications procurement process is in fulfillment of both the currently funded tasks (see Appendix A) as well the prospective 604(b) grant application tasks should the project be awarded funds. The selected firm will have an opportunity to weigh in on the 604(b) grant application.
