Senior Accountant

The Androscoggin Valley Regional Refuse Disposal District, a municipal solid waste District located in Berlin, New Hampshire, is seeking a qualified individual with a solid working knowledge of accounting principles, strong financial analysis and organizational skills with proficiency in Excel for their full-time Senior Accountant position.

The successful candidate must be able to perform and coordinate accounting duties, prepare financial reports, account reconciliations, maintain general ledger, assist with audit prep, balance accounts, confirm and verify statements, maintain and reconcile balance sheet, prepare Excel reports, be highly organized and have proficient computer skills.

The preferred candidate will possess an Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with 5 to 7 years’ experience in a responsible position OR a combination of education and work experience that demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities for the position. A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a criminal background check and credit check are required.
