The Town of Troy (pop 2,100) is seeking a Road Agent to oversee the Highway Department, which consists of 3 full-time employees. The Road Agent will lead a qualified team to maintain the Town’s infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, culverts, open spaces and Town facilities and ensure public safety. The position requires knowledge in budgeting, procurement, scheduling, project management, training personnel, and overseeing contractors. A thorough understanding of state and federal laws, regulations, and safety requirements is a must. In addition, the Road Agent is expected to perform laboring tasks, equipment operation and other tasks to support the team in achieving its objectives. CDL-B Driver’s license is required as well as experience operating and maintaining heavy equipment.
The ideal candidate will have five (5) years of demonstrated experience.
in management or supervisory role and in managing construction projects, and/or a combination of relevant work experience and education. Having the ability to work harmoniously with the team, other Town officials, and the public is critical.
This is a full-time 40+ hour position. Troy offers a competitive benefits package and is a member of the NH Retirement System. Starting salary will be dependent upon qualifications. This position reports to the Town Administrator and Board of Selectmen.
