The Gilford Police Department has an immediate opening for a full-time Police Prosecutor.
We are seeking an Attorney and member of the New Hampshire Bar Association who would
be responsible for planning, organizing and directing the activities of the Legal Division at
the Gilford Police Department. The candidate would provide day-to-day legal advice to
officers of the department for police related matters as well as prosecute all department
court cases at the District Court level. Qualified candidates will have prosecutorial
discretion regarding cases brought before the District Court, in accordance with the
mission of the department. The prosecutor works under the general supervision of the
Chief of Police. All prosecutorial work is performed independently within established laws,
policies and regulations.
Minimum qualifications for this position are: Juris Doctor of Law from accredited University,
a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, Justice of the Peace, three years of
experience as a practicing Attorney in the field of Law, the ability to meet any requirements
under the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) guidelines needed to view or operate
the State Police On-Line Telecommunication System (SPOTS), possess a valid New
Hampshire driver’s license, successfully pass a full background investigation to include an
interview process, Psychological examination and Polygraph examination.
This is a civilian position within the Gilford Police Department. The Town of Gilford offers an
excellent benefit package including health insurance, dental insurance, retirement options,
as well as paid time o&. The position comes with a competitive salary range of $88,696 -
$104,150 DOQE.
