The Hampton Police Department is accepting applications for a Full-time (40 hrs/wk.) Patrol Services Lieutenant. The person in this position performs highly responsible administrative and supervisory work, assists in activities and programs of the police department with emphasis in administration, investigation, patrol services, and staff development. The Lieutenant is responsible for the effective administration and utilization of personnel under his/her command.
Minimum of five (5) progressively responsible years of full-time law enforcement experience, having previously served in the rank of Sergeant or equivalent supervisory role.
The regular hours are Monday-Friday. Hours are generally daytime, but other job requirements will include hours and days outside of this range to include some evening and weekend hours.
