Police Officer
The East Kingston Police Department is actively seeking candidates to fill a full-time police officer vacancy.
Minimum qualifications include: United States citizenship, high school diploma or equivalent; a college degree is preferred but not required, be in good physical condition, possess a valid driver’s license, must be 21 years of age at time of appointment and possess the ability to work under extremely stressful conditions.
Officers patrol the Town of East Kingston for the purpose of crime prevention and law enforcement. Duties include, but are not limited to: responding to calls for service, investigation of crimes, identification and apprehension of offenders, and prevention of crime. Applicants must have the ability to exercise good common sense, discretion, objectivity, be able to make good decisions under pressure, and perform all the essential job functions of a police officer.
Before a final job offer is extended, the chosen applicant will need to undergo a complete background investigation, including, but not limited to a background history, criminal and driving records checks, physical agility test, and psychological exam. Applicants shall meet all qualifying standards as set forth by the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Starting at $27.79 for uncertified officers, up to $35.97 depending on experience.
