Police Officer
The Brookline Police Department is accepting resumes for an anticipated opening for a full time Police Officer position.
The qualified candidate must be 21 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, U.S. citizenship, excellent communication/writing skills and the ability to meet current physical fitness requirements set forth by the NH Police Standards and Training Council.
Current certification preferred but not required. Non-certified candidates would be required to attend the 16-week NH PSTC Academy. Certification from out of state may be transferable upon passing the physical fitness requirements and passing the "New Hampshire Law Package" testing. Candidates will be required to successfully complete a rigorous hiring process.
The Brookline Police Department offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, currently between $65,624 (certified) and $86,382, Anthem Blue/Cross Blue Shield insurance split of 80/20, bi-weekly payout for declining insurance, FREE Delta Dental coverage for the employee, with optional family plans, compensatory time, clothing allowance, paid vacation (up to 4 weeks), 11 paid holidays, sick time buy back, education incentive, tuition reimbursement, NH Group 2 retirement and a hourly detail rate of $62.50.
Officers work 14 days a month, with every other Friday, Saturday, Sunday off, utilizing a 12-hour shift rotation.
Resumes will be accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed upon receipt. The process starts with a written test and physical fitness test based on NH Police Standards and Training entry level requirements. The written test is waived for certified candidates.
