DEPARTMENT: Chester Public Access Community Television, 84 Chester Street, Chester, NH
PART TIME POSITION: Contracted, approximately 40 hours/month
PAY RATE: $15/hour, depending on experience
About Chester CTV
Chester Community TV is the town’s public access station, dedicated to broadcasting local government meetings, community events, and resident-created programming. We empower Chester residents to share their voices and stories through media. Our studio is a welcoming space for creativity, civic engagement, and collaboration.
Job Summary
We’re seeking a Studio Coordinator Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our Community TV studio. This role is ideal for someone who’s organized, tech-friendly, and passionate about local media. You’ll help manage studio logistics, assist with video production, and ensure smooth communication between staff, volunteers, and town departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate studio scheduling and equipment usage
- Assist with filming and editing Town meetings and community programs
- Maintain inventory of studio gear and supplies
- Support volunteers and residents with training and tech setup
- Upload and manage content on streaming platforms and YouTube
- Liaise with Town departments to ensure timely coverage of events
- Help promote programming through social media and community outreach
Qualifications
- Reliable Transportation
- Flexible working hours
- Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Some knowledge of networks and IPs
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of video production and editing (Corel Video Studio)
- Familiarity with live streaming tools and YouTube
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Interest in civic engagement and local storytelling
Bonus Skills
- Experience with public access TV or nonprofit media
- Graphic design or social media marketing skills
- Comfort working with volunteers and community members of all ages
