Town of Sunapee - Full-Time Police Officer
The Town of Sunapee Police Department is seeking qualified candidates to join our team as a Full-Time Police Officer. This position offers the opportunity to serve and protect our community while working alongside a professional and dedicated department.
Responsibilities Include:
- Patrolling the community by cruiser and other assigned means to ensure public safety and quality of life.
- Responding to calls for service, radio dispatches, and emergencies; assessing situations and providing appropriate assistance.
- Enforcing federal, state, and local laws and ordinances, including traffic enforcement.
- Investigating criminal and non-criminal incidents, preserving crime scenes, collecting evidence, and preparing clear, accurate reports.
- Engaging in community policing and building positive relationships with residents, visitors, and local businesses.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- United States citizen.
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred.
- No felony convictions; must be able to meet the physical and mental requirements of the position.
- Eligible for certification by the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council (must obtain certification within one year of appointment).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and commitment to integrity, service, fairness, and professionalism.
Schedule & Pay:
- Full-time, non-exempt position; schedule may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on operational needs.
