Are you an organized, detail-oriented professional looking for a rewarding position that serves your community? The Town of Woodstock, NH, is seeking a Full-Time Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of both the Police Department and the Fire Department

Position Overview:

As the Administrative Assistant, you will perform a variety of clerical, administrative, and customer service tasks. You’ll be the first point of contact for members of the public and will support department staff with a wide range of responsibilities, including records management, scheduling, correspondence, grant writing, and data entry. This position will report to the Chief of Police. 


Key Responsibilities:

Police Department (30 hours/week)

  • Answer phones, greet the public, and direct inquiries appropriately
  • Maintain police records and prepare reports
  • Process permits, requests, and correspondence
  • Coordinate scheduling, appointments, and training for officers
  • Perform data entry into department systems and databases
  • Support payroll and budgeting functions
  • Grant Writing
  • Handle confidential information with integrity

Fire Department (10 hours/week)

  • Provide clerical support to the Fire Chief and department staff
  • Assist with incident reporting and inspection records
  • Maintain departmental files and administrative logs
  • Prepare departmental communications and assist with scheduling
  • Support payroll, billing, and other administrative tasks
  • Grant Writing

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

  • Prior administrative or clerical experience (municipal or public safety experience preferred)
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple priorities
  • Familiarity with police/fire software systems is a plus
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive or confidential information

Compensation & Benefits:
