Fire Chief North Hampton

The Town of North Hampton, NH (pop 4,500), is seeking a progressive leader to be its next Fire Chief. North Hampton, located along the beautiful New Hampshire Seacoast, includes North Hampton State Beach, approximately two (2) miles of Route 95, a busy airfield and a commercial district along NH Route 1. North Hampton Fire & Rescue is a combination department with emergency fire and medical care provided by a well-trained force of 14 full-time employees and a small call force, operating with an annual budget of $2,745,800. In addition to the full-time Chief, the Department employs a full-time Deputy Chief, four (4) full-time Lieutenants, eight (8) full-time Firefighters and one (1) call Firefighter. The Department has excellent public support which is proven by a new state of the art fire station built in 2023 and a competitive Union contract passed by voters in 2024. The Department responds to approximately 1,056 emergency calls yearly, of which 605 were for medical aid resulting in 379 transports. The community began its Paramedic Program in 2015 and now has six (6) Paramedics on staff with a new ambulance being ordered in the spring of 2026.

Associate’s degree in fire science or related field, (bachelor’s degree preferred); at least ten (10) years progressively responsible relevant experience including three (3) years as a command officer or six (6) years as a company officer. Certified Driver Operator, State of New Hampshire Firefighter Level 2 and Fire Officer I certification; nationally registered EMT (Paramedic preferred); OR any equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary range to $130,000; starting salary commensurate with qualifications. An additional stipend is available for the position of Emergency Management Director at the discretion of the Select Board, depending on qualifications.
