Engineering Intern
City of Somersworth, NH
The City of Somersworth is seeking a motivated detailed orientated intern to work approximately 4 -6 hours per day, reporting to City Engineer. Daily work schedules are flexible subject to approval from the City Engineer and the Director, and depending upon the project the intern is involved.
• Review of permit applications, help with taking photos and inspections of sites
• Scan water and sewer tie-cards
• Upload pdfs of permits and tie cards into Vueworks
• Review site plans vs AxisGIS utility data to identify and list discrepancies
• Assist in site inspections for developments involving public infrastructure.
• Assist in plan and specification review of projects submitted to Staff Review Technical Committee (SRTC) and city capital improvement projects
• Take photos of different City features (benches, streetscapes, landscaping, stormwater systems)
• Grab utility/pole/bench/stormwater system data with Bad Elf survey equipment
• Help file scanning and filing in archive storage room
• Help clean out archive room, consolidate
• Assist with GIS updates
• Assist with development of information brochures to the public on the dos and don’ts of flushing items down the drain.
• Assist with conducting MS4 inspections and compliance efforts
