Electrical Inspector
Part-time 8-10 hours/week
City of Somersworth, NH
Perform inspections of facilities, buildings, and structures under construction to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and ordinances related to the installation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. Perform plan review and inspections for industrial, commercial and residential applications. Investigate complaints of code violations; provides needed information to applicants in both verbal and written format and maintains clear and concise records. Associate Degree in Electrical Technology (Industrial) and 5 year minimum experience as an apprentice electrician with training as an inspector or related work; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work. Ability to read and understand complicated electrical plans and blueprints. Valid Motor Vehicle operator’s license. Master Electrician’s License or recent Master Electrician’s License expired in good standing. Certification as Residential Electrical Inspector by the International Code Council is a plus.
Pay Range: $28.30 - $37.23. DOQ
