DPW - Recycling & Transfer Administrative Assistant

Applications are being accepted for the full time position of Administrative Assistant for the Department of Public Works, Recycling & Transfer Division. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting residents with directions and permits, running the scale, preparing deposits, preparing monthly reports and other reports required by the State, performing routine accounting and clerical duties. 

Must have two years of clerical experience.  Additional requirements are a working knowledge of computer word processing and spreadsheet applications, strong communication skills, the ability to establish effective working relationships, and ability to exercise logic and judgement in the performance of all duties.  Knowledge of Quicken a plus.  Must have Solid Waste Operators License, Weighmasters License and Hazardous Waste Coordinator or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.

Must pass all background checks and tests including criminal, motor vehicle, physical, references, etc.  Pay range is $20.68 - $22.60 per hour depending on qualifications.  Full benefit package, i.e., various Health insurance plans including one without premium costs to the employee, Dental, New Hampshire Retirement System, etc.  Pay raise (based on Union pay grades).  Work hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 7am-3:30pm, Wednesdays, 7am-4:30pm, Fridays, 7:00am–12 noon and some Saturdays, 8am-1pm.
