Director of Administrative Services or Deputy Town Manager/Director of Administrative Services

The Town of Hanover is recruiting a senior leader, and we’re intentionally leaving room for the right fit. Based on your experience, interests, and timing, this position may be structured as either:

 

Option A: Deputy Town Manager / Director of Administrative Services

Option B: Director of Administrative Services

ABOUT THE ROLE(S)

 

Deputy Town Manager / Director of Administrative Services (Option A):

For experienced municipal leaders ready for townwide responsibility.

 

You’ll serve as the Town Manager’s chief deputy, help oversee all departments, provide financial and administrative leadership, drive organizational performance, and represent Hanover with regional partners. This option is part of our long-range succession planning.

 

Director of Administrative Services (Option B):

For finance and administration professionals who want to lead budgeting, financial operations, and administrative systems.

 

You’ll manage the Town’s financial functions, develop the annual budget, oversee accounting and administrative services, and supervise a small, skilled team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Option A: Deputy Town Manager / Director of Administrative Services:

  • Bachelor’s required; Master’s or CPA strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years progressively responsible experience in municipal or public administration.
  • Demonstrated leadership across departments.

 

Option B: Director of Administrative Services:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent knowledge/experience.
  • 5+ years relevant experience in finance/administration.
  • Ability to be bonded.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary range: $106,114 – $161,868, DOQ/DOE.
