About the Opportunity
The Town of Londonderry, NH, is seeking a Cyber Services Director to provide strategic leadership in developing and implementing long-term policies and initiatives that strengthen and safeguard the Town’s information technology resources. This position reports directly to the Town Manager. This role oversees and manages the full spectrum of cyber functions, including network infrastructure, cybersecurity, servers, databases, cloud services, personnel, and other systems supporting the Town’s technology needs. The Director is responsible for ensuring the effective, secure, and efficient use of technology across all Town departments.
Key Responsibilities

- Supervises and provides direction to departmental staff.
- Develops, executes and maintains a comprehensive, long-term cyber strategy that aligns with the Town’s goals and community needs.
- Oversees day-to-day cyber operations including disaster recovery, backups, system reliability, and incident response.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans.
- Manages cyber systems, networks, servers, and applications supporting Town Hall and any other municipal entities as directed by the Town Manager.
- Identifies opportunities for technology innovation to improve municipal operations and resident services.
- Ensures the dependability and security of the Town's technology infrastructure, including network systems, servers, databases, and cybersecurity measures.
- Possesses explicit oversight of cybersecurity and compliance
- Provides leadership and strategic vision, working with department heads to address cross-departmental technology needs and managing the Town’s information technology resources.
- Develops and administers the department's annual operating and capital budgets.
- Develops and maintains Town-wide cyber policies and procedures.
- Provides supervision, training, and evaluation for department personnel, and makes recommendations for hiring, firing, and discipline.
- Serves as a consultant and coordinator for the selection, purchase, and installation of all hardware and software.
- Troubleshoots technology problems, designs improvements, and provides technical assistance and support to Town staff.
- Advises elected officials, department heads, and staff on emerging technologies, risks, and best practices.
- Manages relationships with external technology vendors and contractors.
- Prepares clear, concise, and accurate reports and correspondence.
- Creates technology roadmaps that balance growth, functionality, and fiscal responsibility, while working to standardize and streamline technology resources across departments to improve collaboration and reduce redundancy
- Expands digital services for residents (online payments, forms, streaming of meeting [in conjunction with Director of Cable]), while maintaining data privacy and cyber security.
- Monitors and evaluate security risks, addressing vulnerabilities with timely solutions, while ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local cybersecurity regulations.
- Ensures daily backups of mission-critical servers and storage devices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in information technology management, including experience supervising personnel.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of current information technology systems, management, and best practices.
- Ability to manage budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technological concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proven expertise in strategic cyber planning, project management, and cybersecurity with a strong understanding of networking, cloud computing, database management, and municipal software applications.
- Ability to develop and lead strategic and operational initiatives.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Work Environment
This is a salaried exempt position assigned to a forty (40) hour workweek with additional hours as required. The role requires attendance at meetings and hearings with state and local boards, commissions, organizations, authorities, and related groups and organizations. The majority of work is performed indoors in an office environment.
Occupational Exposures
May be exposed to cleaning fluids, photocopier/printer toner and ink, eraser fluids, printer cartridges, dirt, dust, fumes and hazardous materials that can affect respiratory system, eyes or skin, etc.
