The City of Keene is now accepting applications for a Construction Project Inspector in our Public Works Department! This 6-month contract position is considered full-time temporary employment, with occasional work on Saturdays, and a pay rate of $40- $45 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Under the direction of the City Engineer, this position provides oversight, coordination and inspection of public works construction sites and projects, including various roadway, water, sewer, and drainage projects. The Inspector will collect data related to constructed infrastructure and ensure that construction work is completed according to contract plans and specifications!
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure that all phases are built per the contract documents.
- Ensure that all phases of the project are complying with environmental commitments, permit requirements and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with the design engineer for response to Contractor questions as needed, and their testing sub-contractors.
- Prepare and manage all field documentation related to the project, including but not limited to quantity tracking, payment requisition review, field reports, pictures, material testing scheduling and oversight.
- Monitor the traffic control plan to ensure safe travel for the public through the work zone.
- Provide near full-time construction oversight of the assigned project(s).
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or 3 years or more of work experience in a similar role.
- High degree of proficiency applying the principles of algebra and geometry.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft based software required.
- OSHA 10 and NHDOT LPA certifications are desired.
