CIVIL ENGINEERING INTERN – SUMMER 2026
DEPARTMENT: Engineering Services Division, City of Concord Community Development
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Up to thirteen (13) weeks – May through August 2026
STARTING HOURLY RANGE: $18.50-$20.55 Depending on work experience/education with paid holidays.

JOB SUMMARY:
Performs responsible technical duties within the City of Concord, Engineering Services Division and the General Services Department, under the general supervision of the City Engineer.
Examples of Duties:
Duties are varied and include, but not limited to, the following:
- Roadway pavement condition survey citywide
- Construction inspection of utility projects in City right-of-way
- Update GIS databases
- Drafting engineering design plans or records in AutoCAD
- Field data collection using a Trimble GPS unit
Typical Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a college level Civil Engineering, Planning, Geography or related field.
- Must have successfully completed one year of post secondary education.
- Knowledge of planning/survey/civil engineering/GIS principles and methods preferred.
- Must have a valid driver license and good driving records.
