 About the Role: As a Town Planner with the Office of Community Development, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the future of Amherst. From coordinating subdivision reviews to providing guidance on land use regulations, your work will directly impact the town's growth and development.

 What You'll Do:

• Coordinate and conduct subdivision and site plan reviews.
• Review zoning and historic district applications.
• Provide expert guidance on local land use ordinances.
• Assist in updating ordinances, regulations, and the Master Plan.
• Offer support to Planning Board, Zoning Board of Adjustment, and Historic District Commission.

 Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Planning or related field.
• Progressive experience in municipal, county, or state land use planning.
• Extensive knowledge of land use planning principles, state, and local land use legislation.
• Familiarity with zoning issues and procedures.
• Or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

• Competitive salary range: Labor Grade 15, $36.59 to $42.90.
