Town Administrator

The Town of Brookline, NH (population 5,753) is seeking a knowledgeable, experienced Town Administrator.  Brookline is a scenic town on the southern NH border with a highly educated, high income population, a highly rated school district, and a world-famous sculpture institute.  Our town is a bedroom community with extensive conservation trails, active community events and volunteerism.  

With a traditional Town Meeting form of government, the Town Administrator reports to a five-member Selectboard. The budget is $7.4 million, excluding schools. The Town currently has 22 full time and approximately 30 part time employees.  Brookline has a seasoned and experienced staff who work well together in providing exemplary service to the townspeople. Both the Brookline Selectboard and residents have been very supportive of their town officials and town objectives.  

The successful candidate should possess strong experience in local government operations, community engagement and human resources. Strong interpersonal, listening, written, and verbal skills are also a requirement. A relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent administrative experience, preferably in a municipal setting, is a prerequisite.  Salary range to $125,000; starting salary commensurate with experience and education.
