Public Health Equity Officer

POSITION:                         Public Health Equity Officer

HOURS WORKED:            40 hours/week, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

GRADE:                              Grade 14, Salary dependent upon experience


The Division of Public Health and Community Services has prioritized equity as a one of the four priority areas our strategic plan. This position will function as the equity and inclusion thought leader on the Strategic Leadership Team at the Division of Public Health and Community Service, to ensure upstream factors related to addressing disparities are met across all levels of integrating equity strategies in the assessment, development and implementation of public health services. Operate as a liaison with the State Office of Health Equity and Inclusion to build alignment between all efforts of diversity, equity and inclusion.


Bachelor’s degree to Master’s Level in Organizational Development, Public Health/Public Health Administration, Certification in diversity and inclusion with training experience in equity work. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Training. Knowledge of core functions and essentials of public health services with equity at the core, data collection methods and dissemination using an equity lens, platforms such as Microsoft Office and Google and general technology literacy. Ability to facilitate meetings and conduct trainings, convene partners, foster relationships and lead hard conversations to build consensus, communicate through excellent written and verbal skills, work effectively in a diverse, interdisciplinary team-focused environment. This position has a significant work pace and is public facing.
