The Town of Canterbury has an opening for a full-time Police Officer.
The position involves working varied hours including nights, weekends, holidays.
Uncertified officers will have to complete the NH Police Standards and Training Council full-time academy. The Town of Canterbury will provide funding for this training to a qualified candidate. The salary range is $24.04-28.23 depending on certifications. Take home cruiser (30-minute drive from Pd according to google maps), Medical, dental and retirement benefits are included with this compensation package.
The hiring process will involve a physical agility test, oral board, polygraph examination, psychological screening, medical examination, drug test, and an extensive background investigation. Some pre-employment tests may be waived for certified officers. All officers have a one-year probationary period. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and US citizenship.
