Police Officer

The Town of Tuftonboro has an opening for a service-oriented ethical team member. The Town of Tuftonboro is in the beautiful Lakes Region of New Hampshire. It is located on the eastern side of Lake Winnipesaukee. There are excellent recreational opportunities in the area.

The position involves working varied hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and some call at night from home. There are assigned take-home cruisers and residency requirements. Uncertified officers will have to complete the NH Police Standards and Training Council full-time academy.

The hiring process will involve a written test, physical agility test, oral board, polygraph examination, psychological screening, medical examination, drug test, and an extensive background investigation. Some pre-employment tests may be waived for certified officers.  All officers have a one-year probationary period.  Applicants should review the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council website for more information on the requirements for certification as a police officer.  

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and US citizenship.  

The salary range for certified is $26.43 to $34.87; uncertified is $25.17 to $33.12.
