Police Chief
The Town of Middleton, New Hampshire (population approx. 1800) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of police chief. Located along the ME- NH border, this rural community is just minutes from the lake’s region and 40 minutes from the seacoast.
The Police Department has an authorized strength of 3 full-time officers including the chief, several part-time officers, and a part-time administrative assistant. The operating budget is approximately $305,000. The Chief is expected to perform all the usual management and administrative duties of the position but given the size of the department is expected to assume the responsibilities as a first responder.
The ideal candidate will have an associate degree or higher in a related field, ten years law enforcement experience with at least five years in a progressive responsible management role or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience to demonstrate success in the position. Salary range is up to $90,000, starting salary commensurate with qualifications. All applicants must be currently full-time certified through New Hampshire Police Standards and Training.
