Mechanic

The Town of Canaan has a Full Time opening for a Mechanic.  Duties include routinely servicing and performing repairs to all Town-owned vehicles and equipment.  This position is also responsible for ordering parts, maintaining stock of supplies and documenting maintenance, and service and repair of all vehicles and equipment. 

Candidates must have considerable knowledge of mechanics, use and maintenance of all equipment and tools, knowledge of diesel-powered equipment and skill in their repair, knowledge of hydraulics and vehicle electrical systems, and knowledge of state laws and regulations pertaining to motor vehicle operations.

Compensation up to $70,000 depending on experience and certifications.  Benefits include participation in NH Retirement System, health, dental and life insurance, and vacation, sick, holiday and personal paid time off.
