Laborer/Parking Enforcement Officer

The purpose of this position is to facilitate the efficient utilization of vehicular Parking facilities and spaces, to assist in providing for the public's safety by maintaining vehicular and pedestrian sight distances and the related purposes of other Parking regulations and to notify dispatch of potential requirements for other public safety services.  These objectives are accomplished by verifying the display of appropriate signage, markings in traveled ways or other public notice, monitoring vehicular use of Parking spaces, taking enforcement actions such as issuing written notices of violation with their associated fines and disabling vehicles by approved procedures and methods, recording issued tickets for subsequent collection and generally observing areas patrolled for suspicious activity or conditions.  This work is subject to review according to the City's personnel plan through observation, reports and the results achieved.
