Finance Clerk

POSITION:   FINANCE CLERK (Full Time)

Pay Range:    $19.13 – $27.48 per hour.  Starting rate based upon education and experience. 

Full Time, Hourly, Non-Union

TYPICAL DUTIES: The Town of Bedford is seeking a Finance Clerk who shall possess: a thorough knowledge of accounts payable processing, the ability to perform basic account reconciliations and the willingness to be the designated back up for the motor vehicle registration & tax collection window, as needed. The Finance Clerk must follow slightly complex instructions and be able to communicate effectively with other Town employees and the general public.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and two years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a municipal setting is preferred.   Strong attention to detail and superb customer service skills are required. Applicants must be proficient with Microsoft Office products and have the ability to learn additional software programs. Working knowledge of MUNIS and AVITAR programs is desired. Appointees to this position must successfully complete the State of New Hampshire municipal agent training within the first 90 days of employment if not already a licensed agent of the State of NH.   Applicants with any combination of education, training, and experience comparable to the above qualifications will be considered.

 The Finance Clerk reports directly to the Finance Director and may be required to perform other related duties as required.
