Executive Secretary (Part-time)
The Town of Derry seeks qualified candidates for a Part-Time Secretary position in our Fire Department. This is a 29-hour per week position, with no benefits.
Reporting to the Fire Chief and Assistant Chief, the Secretary is responsible for assisting in the operation of the Fire Department and providing excellent customer service to all internal and external customers. Duties include, but are not limited to, greeting and assisting visitors; answering phones and directing calls; scheduling appointments; creating and maintaining databases; preparing memos, reports, and other documents; assisting with budgeting, purchasing, and accounts payable; and assisting employees with personnel related issues.
This position requires knowledge of administrative and accounting functions equivalent to completion of high school, plus two to four years of related experience, or any combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
